Singer Malkoo files petition to remove name from no-fly list

Renowned singer Malkoo has taken legal action to have his name removed from the Provisional National Identification List (PNIL).

A petition, filed in the Lahore High Court, seeks to address what Malkoo claims to be an unjust inclusion in the list.

The petition was submitted through Advocate Azhar Siddique, naming the federal government and other relevant parties. According to the petition, Malkoo’s name was added to the PNIL list in March without any legal basis. The singer, who was scheduled to travel to the UK for a music concert, asserts that no case was registered against him, making the inclusion in the PNIL list unlawful.

Malkoo’s petition argues that his name was wrongfully added to the list, which has hindered his ability to travel freely for his professional commitments. The petition requests the court to order the removal of his name from the PNIL list to restore his mobility and professional activities.

According to reports, Malkoo, who gained prominence through his hit song ‘Qaidi Number 804’, had a series of eight performances scheduled across Britain commencing on June 19, with the majority of the tickets already being sold out. The singer was scheduled to fly to he UK on Sunday, however, it was reported that he was not allowed to travel.

His first scheduled show was supposed to take place in High Wycombe on Wednesday.
